Week Four: My Pets

Captain

Captain

This is Captain. He grew up in a feral colony in Assonet and was TNR'd by a local shelter: CARE Southcoast. Shortly after being TNR'd, the people who regularly fed the colony reported that Captain was friendly and often trying to come inside their house. So, the shelter came back and brought him in. Not long after, I started volunteering at CARE and he stole my heart. I would pause my cleaning and turn around to see him slow-blinking at me from across the room. I adopted him as soon as I could!

Chibi

Chibi

This is Chibi, a Veil Tail Betta fish. I bought him from my local Petco. I chose him because of his dazzling colors and spunky personality. He comes right up to the glass whenever I approach his tank, flaring his fins and showing how much of a macho fish he is! He spends his days swimming around his big chunk of mopani wood, hanging out on a leaf bed, and hunting blood worms.

Remy

Remy

This is Remy, my other adopted shelter cat. We got her from Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) when we decided that Captain needed a friend. She was surrendered to the shelter by a child who really gave no explaination as to why. She stole my heart with her big sad eyes and unique fur coloring. She's half tabby, half tortie; a torbie! Her and Captain make a good pair, as he is very mellow and she a little prickly--so he doesn't mess with her and she can initiate play on her terms!
